The Chevrolet Suburban is the America of SUVs

2025 Chevrolet Suburban High Country

When many people come to America for the first time, they are struck by just how genuinely large the country is. Driving two or more hours in most parts of Europe will put you in another country. People drive two hours in America to go shopping at their favorite store. It makes sense, then, that we as Americans love large vehicles like the Chevrolet Suburban

The Suburban Is Its Own City

A recent review by Larry Printz of Pickup Truck Talk had him reviewing the new Suburban and saying, “Calling it an SUV is like calling the Grand Canyon a ditch. The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban is not so much a sport-utility vehicle as its own zip code.”

Unlike all other SUVs, the extra-large Chevy is available with three different engines that suit each owner’s needs. The standard engine is the trusted 5.3-liter V8, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The big 6.2-liter V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and finally, the 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo-diesel offers 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. All engines are paired perfectly with a smooth and fast-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission that is optimized for both efficiency and performance when needed.

The Suburban comes in LS, LT, RST, Premier, High Country, and Z71 trim levels. Each trim level is well-suited to one type of buyer or another. Like America, there are plenty of choices.

Abundant Cargo Space

As Larry pointed out, the Suburban is its own city when it comes to size, and buyers absolutely love it for that. With 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, the Suburban carries an extra 16 cubes over the second-largest SUV on the market, the Tahoe, with its 25.5. Folding the third row expands the amount of space to 93.8 cu.ft., and finally to 144.7 cu.ft. when both rear rows are folded. There isn’t a problem that the Chevy can’t carry.

One big reason people tend to buy a full-size SUV is the ability to not only haul people and things, but also to tow a boat, a horse trailer, a car, or anything, really. Depending on the engine, the Suburban can tow up to 8,200 lbs when properly equipped.

Big In-Vehicle Displays

Just because the Suburban is big doesn’t mean it’s just a brute with no intelligence. You would be mistaken if you thought that. The standard 17.7-inch center infotainment screen is attached to an 11-inch digital instrument cluster that can display just about anything you want or need your SUV to show you. With Google Built-in, your Suburban will have native apps like Google Maps, Spotify, and more, allowing you to take control of your drive.

With the option of Super Cruise, the new industry standard in hands-free driving, your SUV becomes a place where you can relax and enjoy a long drive through traffic while the big Chevy handles the driving duties. Not only can drivers take their hands off the wheel under normal driving conditions, but the system can also handle the driving while you are towing. If you want to change lanes, simply turn on your turn signal, and Super Cruise will handle it. With 750,000 miles of roads mapped between the United States and Canada, there is simply no better way to travel the highway.

Safety Is Standard in Every Suburban

The inclusion of Chevy Safety Assist as standard gives owners Forward Collision Alert, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, IntelliBeam, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, HD Surround Vision, Teen Driver, and Buckle to Drive.
