​​Is the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado Still the Best Midsize Pickup Around?​

If a full-size truck isn’t necessary for your workload or off-highway needs, a midsize pickup could be the ideal solution. We just happen to have one of the best in its class, according to MotorTrend. The outlet should know, because the Chevrolet Colorado won its 2024 Truck of the Year award.  

The awards are great, but the 2025 Colorado delivers more than that. MotorTrend said it surpassed all competition “with style, capability, and utility…but with pricing more people can afford.” 

With five trim levels to choose from, the 2025 Colorado offers one for everything you want to do. Going to work means getting into the value-added WT model. This truck is made for the ones who get the job done right. The LT offers more with the amenities you need to make the weekends your time to get things done. Both models are available in either two- or four-wheel drive.  

The 2025 Colorado is also available with three off-road ready trim levels—Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. Each one delivers a level of performance for tackling challenging terrain. With standard four-wheel drive, the Autotrac two-speed transfer case system enables you to put power down towards increased traction and agility. That also comes in handy during our tough winter months.  

You can also add more to your tough 2025 Colorado ZR2 with the Bison package from American Expedition Vehicles. It adds more protection underneath and throughout the vehicle.  

All Colorado models are powered by the 310-horsepower 2.7-liter Turbo MAX engine. It puts down an impressive 430 pound-feet of torque. Connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2025 Colorado can return up to 20 MPG in combined city and highway driving—while towing up to 7,700 pounds.  

MotorTrend appreciated the tough exterior styling each 2025 Colorado offers. It starts with a cab and bed that means business for both work and play. It is distinctively Chevrolet with its broad shoulders and higher ground clearance. The 2025 Colorado truly means business anywhere you take it.  

MotorTrend calls out the “techy, upscale interior” of the 2025 Colorado—something all drivers will appreciate.  All models get an 11.3-inch color infotainment touchscreen display. This includes Google Built-in, which provides everything you need with just a command from Google Assistant. You can use its mapping software to get you where you need to be, even using your saved destinations through Google Maps. The editors also praised the quality of the interior, which truly makes you feel at home.  

MotorTrend concluded that “as a lineup, though, the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado is a comfortable, capable, properly modern pickup well worthy of our top truck honors.”
