A Million-Mile Chevrolet Silverado Joins CMA Fest

CMA Fest is Country Music’s biggest celebration. In Nashville, it combines not only the music, but the country lifestyle – which undoubtedly includes the love of the pickup truck. To help celebrate that affinity for full-size trucks, Chevrolet invited Jim Muncy and his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado to CMA fest. But this isn’t just any 2007 Silverado: this one has a million miles on the odometer.
It takes a lot to maintain any vehicle – even the most dependable pickup truck available in America – in order to reach a million miles. Impressively, Muncy racked up that milestone mileage in his 2007 Silverado with both the original engine and transmission.

Muncy bought his Silverado brand new in October of 2006. As a sales representative for a tire and oil company, Muncy then logged 1,000 miles a week, using the Silverado as a mobile office. Despite facing some harsh Ohio winters in the process, Muncy says the only special treatment his Silverado received was regular maintenance and care.
As Muncy attests, his Silverado is a true extension of his life. Not just through the work he does, but for everything he sets his heart to do when he’s not working. Every mile yields a conversation – all one million of them.
Muncy was one of a select number of Chevrolet pickup truck owners invited to CMA Fest. A fellow million-mile Silverado owner, Andy Sanford, joined the group showing how much their rigs were “like a rock.”

That is the essence of what Chevrolet has developed for over a century of producing pickup trucks. It’s not just about the trucks themselves, but the people they serve, the connections forged, the stories told – a true truck community, if you will.
These truck owners came together in Nashville to celebrate the durability and dependability of Chevrolet pickup trucks, and share their Silverado stories with fellow owners and enthusiasts alike. The music was just part of the party – bringing the “heartbeat of America” while they “see the U.S.A. in their Chevrolet.” These owners love their “baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet” as much as their friends do. These are more than just slogans and jingles – they are the essence of what makes Chevrolet a great vehicle to own.
