2025 Tahoe & Suburban Get Significant Tech Upgrades

The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are two of the best selling full-size SUVs of all-time. As time has marched on, they have gotten better and better as everyday vehicles. Chevrolet released all-new versions of the two large SUVs in 2021, and for 2025 they will be getting some meaningful upgrades for customers. 

New Lighting

The exterior of both the Tahoe and Suburban are given more prominence with their updated headlight and thinner daytime running light (DRL) designs. Both are meant to closely adhere to the style set by the other Chevrolet vehicles. The top lights are the DRLs while the dual C-shape lights are the headlights. Depending on the trim of Tahoe or Suburban, there are new lighting animations for welcoming and walking away from the vehicles. The turn signals also feature a new swipe animation. 

New Wheels

Available on RST and High Country models are 24-inch wheels, further giving the larger Chevrolet SUVs a solid and more planted stance. Two new exterior colors, Cypress Gray and Lakeshore Blue Metallic, are available on either Tahoe or Suburban. 

Upgraded Duramax

The 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter motors remain unchanged, but the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel now produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, which is an increase of 28 horsepower and 35 lb-ft of torque.

5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque

• Standard on: LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier. 

6.2-liter with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque

• Standard on High Country
• Optional on RST, Z71, and Premier

3.0-liter diesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque

• Optional on LS, LT, RST, Premier, and High Country

New Center Console

The center display screens are all-new. Both models and all trim levels have a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, which leads to the 11-inch digital gauge cluster display. Thanks to the redesigned center console, the wireless charger is now more conveniently accessible, and the steering wheel is a new design. 

New Interior Trim

Interior trim has also been redesigned, with Victory Red stitching on RST models and Jet Black over Sky Cool Gray colors on Premier models. More areas of the interiors are now soft touch, with Piano Black and Galvano chrome decor. High Country Tahoe and Suburban now feature authentic wood trim, as well as wingtip perforated leather seats, a special steering wheel, and Jet Black over Mocha color combo. 

Upgraded Suspension

The rear suspension has been tweaked to offer more refinement and better handling characteristics. Updated steering responses offer better confidence for drivers. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control are available. 

New Towing Features

Both Tahoe and Suburban are able to tow up to 8,400 and 8,200 lbs, respectively. A Max Trailering Package is available on select models and includes a high-capacity radiator with cooling fan, integrated trailer brake control, Hitch View, Hill Descent Control, Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering, and the use of the Chevrolet Trailering App. New features for 2025 include: Trailer Tire Health, Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info, Forward Path Indication, Boat Ramp Assist, and Trailer Navigation. 

Better Safety

As with all Chevrolet models, safety is the number one priority. The Tahoe and Suburban both offer great safety features, including a new interior sensor called Interior Motion Detection, which can detect if a person or animal has been left unattended and sound the vehicle’s alarm at a progressive rate to get the owner’s attention. A new feature, Connected Cameras, allows owners to remotely look at interior and exterior images of the vehicle through a network of cameras. Customers will be able to see 360-degree views, automatic crash recording, security recording, live view, and My Recordings through a dash cam function. The information can be stored with cloud-based storage.
