GM, Electrify America Makes Public DC Fast Charging Even Simpler

When you’re on the road, you always want to make sure you have enough juice in your electric vehicle’s battery. You understand your vehicle’s range and plan where to charge to reach your destination. Or, to find a public charger to “fill it up.”
Finding a public DC fast charger that works with your Chevrolet EV is one thing. Dealing with using a public DC fast charger is another. The hassle of using an app to find the right charging network and make sure it “talks” to your EV can be quite a hassle. The solution is quite simple: one app to simply plug and charge.
The myChevrolet app is a useful tool for finding DC fast charging stations compatible with your 2026 Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV, and 2027 Bolt. Now, you can locate, start a charging session, and pay for it from the app at more than 5,000 Electrify America stations across the U.S.A. That also includes using their Hyper-Fast 350-kilowatt chargers.
The app will help you find compatible locations, including directions to the specific station or charger. You can also use Google Maps on your infotainment touchscreen display to navigate you to that station. It will also tell you the type of connection that station will have available – whether it is a J1772 CCS or NACS plug.

When you get to the charger indicated on your myChevrolet app, it will direct you to plug into your EV and start the session. While you are waiting for your session to finish, you can monitor how much energy is going into your Chevrolet EV’s battery pack in real time. At the end, simply remove the plug, and the stored payment method will be charged for your session.
Many EV users think they should download every app for every network to achieve a good public DC fast-charging experience. In the myChevrolet app, all the networks that are part of the GM Energy network are right on your screen. That covers over 250,000 public charging stations across the U.S.A. and Canada.
The myChevrolet app pairs well with your EV. Not only can you get to a compatible public DC fast charger on the GM Energy network – including those Electrify America locations- but you can also monitor your vehicle remotely. You can check the state of charge, including available range, as well as lock and unlock the doors, precondition your vehicle’s climate control, and perform other functions right from your smartphone. The app is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can even send destinations from your Android device to the Google Built-in system inside your Chevrolet EV through your Google account.
