Chevy Colorado Wins MotorTrend Truck Of the Year

The 2024 Chevy Colorado has won MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year award for 2024, making this the third time the smaller Chevy truck has won the award. That means it is one of the most successful and celebrated trucks ever made.
Who Are MotorTrend?
MotorTrend first appeared on bookshelves in 1949 and is one of the oldest surviving and most prestigious American car magazines. They have also celebrated the Car of the Year in various fashions since its inception. The first-ever award went to the 1949 Cadillac V8. Starting in 1978, they started featuring Truck of the Year as a standalone award category. The 2015 Colorado, 2016 Colorado Duramax Diesel, and now 2024 Colorado have all won TofY.

A Message From MT
When it comes to winning such an award, Ed Loh, MotorTrend Group Head of Editorial, said, “The Colorado lineup’s performance on- and off-road, particularly the ZR2’s prowess, is nothing short of exceptional, rivaling even some of the most revered off-road vehicles available. Earning MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year award is a testament to the Colorado’s all-encompassing excellence across various terrains and utility needs.”

How Colorado Won
The Colorado was up against 13 other trucks and was able to best them in the various review criteria that MotorTrend used to decide on a winner. Some of the metrics the Colorado won include safety, advancement in design, and performance of the intended function.
A Word From Chevrolet
“We are absolutely thrilled to see Colorado take home the MotorTrend Truck of the Year award,” said Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet. “The all-new Colorado boasts elevated performance, capability and refinement in every respect, across every trim offered.
